Business Development Manager Clerkenwell, Central London

Casala Ltd are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager for Clerkenwell, Central London. Do you know how architects and dealers in the corporate interior design world think? Are you able to convert these contacts into projects? Then we are looking for you!

Casala has specialised in intelligent furniture solutions that excel in design and functionality for over 100 years. From our office in Culemborg, the Netherlands, we offer stylish solutions for a variety of spaces and occasions for the contract market. The function of the room and the personal well-being of its users are our main focus. To ensure that our furniture is both durable and flexible, we work exclusively with leading designers.

Casala products are offered through a worldwide sales network in more than 30 countries. Besides our main showroom in Culemborg, we also have showrooms in Amsterdam, England, Germany and France. In London, our customers range from Westminster Abbey to King’s College to the London Stock Exchange. Our furniture can be found in conference rooms, offices, educational institutions, hotels, hospitals and churches all over the world. This is achieved by a team of over 40 employees. The role
As Business Development Manager, you are the point of contact for Central London. From our Clerkenwell showroom you will proactively approach architects, dealers and end user customers, partly from our current client base, but also from your own network. You will also work to achieve growth by exploring new markets and sectors. Through your enthusiasm, communicative and professional attitude, you are able to build long-term relationships. You inform your network in an effective way that this leads to greater brand awareness and strengthen our market position.

After an extensive induction programme, you will know everything about the products, customers and the market in which we operate. You will form a close team with your UK based colleagues. After one year, you will have ensured that you are seen as a reliable partner by existing dealers and architects and have added new contacts to the customer base. You have developed a sales plan and strategy for Central London in consultation with the Country Manager and are responsible for its implementation.

The candidate
You are currently working as a sales/account manager or have a similar position, preferably in contract interiors. You have an affinity for design and speak the language of architects, dealers and end users. Preferably, you have a relevant network within this target group in London and are based within an hour of Clerkenwell.

As a person, you are target driven, decisive, approachable and have a good sense of humour. You are flexible, enthusiastic and work independently. Furthermore, you have:

  • excellent commercial and communicative skills
  • the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously
  • the talent to build long-term relationships at all levels within a client’s organisation
  • a problem-solving and methodical mindset and the ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines
